Boosting Cash Flow for Employers

Small business is able to claim 100% of salary and wages withheld reported from March to June 2020 for a tax-free payment up to $50,000. An equal payment will be available from July to October 2020.

What is available

The Australian Taxation Office will provide tax-free cash flow boosts of between $20,000 and $100,000 to eligible businesses, delivered through credits in the activity statement.

A minimum payment of $10,000 and a maximum payment of $50,000 will be available to eligible entities for the period March to June.

Another cash flow boost of between $10,000 and $50,000 will be applied to eligible entities for the period July to October.

Eligibility Criteria

You will be eligible to receive the cash flow boost if you are a small or medium business entity or not-for profit entity; active ABN from before 12th March 2020, annual turnover under $50 million and made eligible payments you are required to withhold from.

How to apply

You don’t need to apply for the scheme, the cash flow boost is a tax-free payment to employers and is automatically calculated by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) when businesses lodge their activity statements.
