To help small businesses operate through and after the Covid-19 pandemic, the City of Sydney has released funds in the form of a small business grant to eligible businesses.

What is on offer?

The City of Sydney is offering a grant of $10,000 to small businesses impacted by Covid-19.

Who is eligible?

Small for-profit organisations who fall within the City of Sydney local government area, employ between 1 and 19 full time staff and have an annual turnover of less than $10 million.

Sole traders and individuals may be eligible for other grants such as the Quick response grant, Cultural sector resilience grant, Community service grants or the Creative fellowships fund. More information on these grants found here.

  • Training and professional development
  • Capital works

What you’ll need to demonstrate

  • You’re a for-profit organisation with an ABN
  • You employ between 1 and 19 full time staff, with applications considered from larger businesses in the hospitality and tourism industries under exceptional circumstances
  • Your organisation is located within the specific City of Sydney area
  • How the grant will help support your business
  • The skills and capacity necessary to undertake the project

 Documents required

  • Annual Financial Report or most recent BAS Statement
  • Single Touch Payroll Report or letter from Accountant to verify number of full-time employees
  • Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency
  • Quotes for equipment or material over $1,000 (minimum of 2 quotes)
  • A DA for capital works from the City of Sydney
  • Child Protection Policy (if primary or secondary beneficiaries of your project are children)

 How to apply?

Applications to be submitted by 5pm, 27th April 2020 and funds released from 1st June 2020.
